BRIEF HISTORY OF THE EXISTING MASJID
MASJID-E-QUTUB SHAHI The existing Masjid is located just behind Malkam Cheruvu (lake on Hyderabad-Bombay Old Highway), built by the Masjid Qutub Shahi Rulers about 430 years ago, like any other Masjid of the same time. This Masjid is also an architectural marvel. For unknown reasons, this Masjid was not under care for about 70 years and Salah (Namaz) was not being offered during this time. This House of Allah (وتعالى سبحانهۥ ( was in a dilapidated condition and was about to collapse.
After several attempts to reopen this Masjid by the Muslims of the neighborhood, finally, Alhamdulillah we succeeded in this task of reopening with the help of the Government of Telangana State and Telangana State Waqf Board and this Masjid was reopened in August 2020 with few repair
From then onwards, Alhamdulillah, by the will of Allah (سبحانهۥ وتعالى ,(there is continuous help from various corners to improve the condition of the Masjid for Musallies (Worshippers).
However, since this Masjid is very old, it might not last for a long time and the same was opined by the architectural experts as well. Also, the present Masjid area is very small and cannot accommodate the growing numbers of Musallies (Worshippers). Therefore keeping in view of this present condition there is an immediate need of a spacious Masjid to accommodate thousands of Musallies (Worshippers) who are travelling miles together to find a place in a Masjid in the surrounding areas and the future growth of the neighborhood, the committee has decided to build a new Masjid with many other facilities, which you will be witnessing in the further part of this document.
WHO DESIGNED THE MASJID?
The proposed new Masjid is designed by a professionally qualified senior Architect, Firoz Ahmed (M. Arch. (ED)), with a vast experience of designing & building about 50 Masajid across India. The Structural Engineer is Y.M. Arshad Qadri from Vali Qadri & Associates whoare well known for establishing various famous structures in Hyderabad
As the proposed plan is a huge project of a Masjid with all facilities, we need huge funds to bring it into reality!
WHO IS INCHARGE OF THE FUNDS?
The Masjid committee that is approved by the T.S. Waqf Board comprises of well qualified and dedicated people working selflessly for the development of the Masjid, having pure intentions for the Masjid. The committee will take care of every rupee collected for the purpose of Masjid construction. All the accounts shall be audited by the Government auditors or private Charted Accountants for responsibility and accountability.
WHY A LARGE MASJID?
Keeping in view of the present-day attendance of the Musallies (Worshippers), that is approximately 600 people in Salat-ul-Jumu’ah (the Friday prayer), and future generations and the reasons mentioned below, it is felt that a large Masjid is needed.
1 As this Masjid is located in a prime area near Hitech City and Gachibowli, where more than one lakh Muslim men and women are working in different software companies at different positions and levels, there are very few Masajid near this area, which are not sufficient to accommodate all neighbouring Muslims. Especially on Fridays and special occasions, people face lot of difficulties in finding a place and praying in a Masjid. So there is very important and urgent need of a big Masjid in this area.
2. In near future around the Masjid, more than 5 blocks of 50-storied residential buildings are coming up that will increase the Muslim population nearby.
3. In this area, there is no Masjid with all facilities like parking, ladies’ prayer area, children’s development and engagement, physical and mental healthcare, and others.
4. The aesthetic value of the Masjid will attract more people to Islam.
SALIENT FEATURES OF THE PROPOSED MASJID
1. The total land area admeasuring nearly 32 guntas or 3872 sq. yards or 34848 sq. feet.
2. The proposed Masjid will (إناللهشاء (have 4 floors with 20000 sq. feet of each floor.
3. There will be a good sized cellar of 30000 sq. feet that will accommodate more than 100 cars and two-wheelers.
4. Almost 14000 sq. feet land will be kept open for plantation (to remind us of Allah’s (وتعالى سبحانهۥ (creation and countless blessings) and temporary parking.
5. Tall Minar(s), with an elegant design will be erected which will stand as the symbol of glory of Allah (وتعالى سبحانهۥ.(
